ABOUT US
What is the WoodShop Learner website and who is it for?
This website is for anyone that would like to learn the fundamental skills needed to build a woodworking project. There is a process that I have learned from others and from my own trial and error, and if you follow these fundamentals, you will be successful in building your projects.
I start as simple as reading a tape measure and walk you through taking your idea or design and turning it into a finished product.
You will learn skills such as how to safely use woodworking tools and machinery, techniques to make your woodworking life easier and techniques such as applying a beautiful clear coat finish.
The projects you will find here are progressive like building blocks. I will walk you through something simple like a picture frame or butcher block, to an intermediate project like a wall clock, bookshelf or night stand, to eventually being able to build projects like a desk, a table, a hutch and eventually being confident enough to build whatever project you are determined to conquer.
Like anything else in life, you learn the simple basics and then eventually, through your practice and learning, become more and more experienced and confident.
Teachers, I will also share with you all of my lesson plans, and anything else I have that makes teaching our students easier.
I will show you how I organize clean-up time. I will share my ideas of how to help a non-motivated or discouraged student. I will share the management routines and systems to help the class, the lab and the building process run smoothly. I will share the types of supplies, products and tools I use that I have grown to trust and provide you either links to get those products or even purchase those items here through my website.
Explore the website. If you have a suggestion of something you would like to learn or see here, please feel free to contact me and your ideas will be considered.
Once again, Welcome to the WoodShop Learner.
